Dating back to the 12th/13th century, this romantic country house is tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac, high on a hill with breathtaking 360-degree views that offer an unparalleled sense of space. Château Mondou is an authentic experience where past and present merge, surrounded by nature and tranquility.
With us you can stay in one of three carefully designed gites, each with their own unique character, suitable for four, six or eight people. Or choose our authentic castle room in the tower for a special occasion. Each gîte offers privacy and comfort, while the castle room takes you back in time.
The estate offers an array of facilities to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Enjoy our spacious 11 x 5 meter saltwater pool, relax in the shade of the large lime tree, or challenge each other to a game at the table tennis table. For the little ones, there are several pieces of playground equipment. The courtyard, equipped with a long table, chairs and a BBQ, is the perfect place for cozy evenings under the stars, while our Torsten, a large wood-burning stove/fireplace, provides warmth and atmosphere.
Rokus and Marie-Anne inhabit the left wing of the chateau and are ready to make your stay extra special. The estate is equipped with superfast Starlink internet, so you will always stay connected, even in the middle of the French countryside.
Château Mondou is set in its own 2-hectare grounds, just 4 kilometers above Villeneuve sur Lot. The area offers plenty of opportunities for trips, walks, and activities, from biking and swimming to visiting castles and caves. Local tourism is just right: not too crowded, but lively enough.
