Welcome to Château Mondou, an atmospheric thirteenth-century country house nestled in the lush hills of the Lot et Garonne. Dating back to the 12th/13th century, this romantic country house is tucked away at the end of a long driveway and cul-de-sac, high on a hill with breathtaking 360-degree views that offer a fine sense of space. Château Mondou is an authentic experience where past and present merge, surrounded by nature and tranquility.
With us you can stay in one of three carefully designed gîtes, each with its own unique character, suitable for four, six or eight people. Finally, we have an authentic castle room with bathroom in the tower. Here you will go back in time and feel like a castle lady and/or gentleman. Very suitable for special occasions, as a bridal suite, chambre d'hotes or simply as an extra room.
A lovely 11×5 meter saltwater pool is located privately behind the building. A common outdoor courtyard with wood stove, pizza oven and long tables complete it all. Everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Our domain has super strong and fast internet via satellite. In the left wing of the chateau we live, Rokus and Marie-Anne. We are modestly present, always available to give you an extra fine stay.
The chateau stands on its own 2 acres of land and is located 4 kilometers above Villeneuve sur Lot, a pleasant lively bastide town with all amenities, markets and entertainment. The area is rural, hilly and there are numerous interesting places to visit. Tourism is pleasant and just right. Not too busy and not too quiet.
You can bike, hike, swim, play golf (challenging 18 hole golf course at 7 km), visit castles and caves, boat on the Lot, visit bastide villages with a food market every night in high season. There are also several adventures and water parks. But perhaps the finest thing is to relax completely in a nice chair under the lime tree.
