Welcome to the site of Chateau Mondou.
Chateau Mondou is an attractive thirteenth-century country house set in the lush hills of the Lot et Garonne. The chateau has three cottages, for 8, 6 and 4 people. There is also a large chateau room that can be rented separately. A lovely saltwater pool of 11 by 5 meters is located privately behind the building. Everywhere you have an unobstructed view of the countryside. A communal outdoor area with wood-burning stove, pizza oven and long tables complete the picture. Everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Our domain has super strong and fast internet via satellite.
In the left wing of the chateau we live, Rokus and Marie-Anne. We are available to give you an extra fine stay.
In the right wing is the largest gîte: Bellevue. This gîte has two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs as well. It has a large fine bathroom with two sinks and a small simple bathroom. There are two living rooms; one with the open kitchen and large table adjacent to the huge balcony with 180 degree views of pool and farmlands. There is also a second living room with large wood stove and armchairs and sofa. Bellevue has its own access to the south side to the pool.
Across from the chateau is gîte La Loge, a former porter's house. This particular gîte sleeps 6, has two double bedrooms, one of which is on the mezzanine. There is also a small room with bunk beds. The kitchen is well equipped including a large (Smeg) stove. There is a bathroom with shower, sink and a separate toilet. La Loge has three terraces, on the east, south and west side and a private piece of garden.
Hidden behind the barn we find the third gîte: La Grangee, which is situated in the former barn. La Grangee is very private and suitable for 4 people, has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen is new and well equipped. You have optimal privacy with a private courtyard and a large garden with unobstructed views.
Finally, we have an authentic castle room with bathroom in the tower. Here you will go back in time and feel like a castle lady and/or gentleman. Very suitable for special occasions, as a bridal suite, chambre d'hotes or simply as an extra room.
The property stands on its own 2 acres of land and is located 4 kilometers above Villeneuve sur Lot, a pleasant lively bastide town with all amenities, markets and entertainment. The area is rural, hilly and there are numerous interesting places to visit. Tourism is pleasant and just right. Not too busy and not too quiet.
You can bike, walk, swim, play golf(Villeneuve Golf and Country Club) at 7 km, visit castles and caves, rent a boat on the Lot, visit bastide villages with a food market every evening in high season. There are also several adventures and water parks. But perhaps the finest thing is to relax completely in a nice chair under the lime tree.
